Physician -General Internal Medicine
The Minneapolis VA is seeking outstanding physicians who are BC/BE internal medicine/family medicine to provide outpatient primary care to our nation's Veterans. There is no call and panel sizes are fixed. Providers will have 20% protected administrative time. Qualified candidates will also receive an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate will be eligible for 26 days of vacation per year, sick time, a retirement package consisting of a federal pension and a 401(g), as well as numerous other fringe benefits. The Minneapolis VAHCS is a large, multi-specialty, tertiary care facility providing a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology. The Minneapolis VAHCS also has many research and educational programs and is an essential training site for both the University of Minnesota Medical School and Residency Program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the care of a specified panel of patients. Providers will be expected to provide additional, temporary panel coverage during times of colleague vacations, illnesses, etc. Typical hours are 8 - 4:30, M-F, though evening and Saturday clinic times are available if interested. Internists will have the opportunity to serve for 4-8 weeks per year as a teaching attending on an inpatient medicine team comprised of residents and medical students. Providers can also expect to give their talents to section and hospital-wide committee work from time to time.
