OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas Facilities Management Department is accepting applications for a Part-Time Building Service Worker.

Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to be morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely, and work skillfully to advance the common good. The successful candidate will possess a commitment to the ideals of this mission statement.

Duties include cleaning assigned buildings including offices, athletic facilities, classrooms and public restrooms in accordance with university safety and quality standards; setting up rooms for events; snow removal and occasional heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, and furniture.

Starting hourly rate: $17.53

This position is part-time and the following shift is open:

  • St. Paul & Minneapolis Campuses:
    • Saturday and Sunday: Noon - 8:30pm & Monday: Noon - 4pm

Successfully completing a criminal background check and pre-employment physical are conditions of employment for this position.

This position is in a collective bargaining unit. New employees must satisfy a 90 working day probationary period and join the union after its satisfactory completion.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid MN Driver's License
  • Ability to read and understand instructions for set-ups and safety procedures with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and working knowledge of cleaning procedures
  • Basic computer knowledge
