Description: Job Title: Lead Business Partner BI&A
PRIMARY FUNCTIONLeverages business area knowledge in partnership with BI teams to deliver key business insights that support the development, delivery, and implementation of solutions and/or that support business strategies. Innovates in support of business needs to deliver recommendations on future analyses and insights. Drives prioritization across business teams, assessing tradeoffs and what is most valuable for the overall program. Leads the agile team in support of priorities, using a product mind-set, leveraging team members unique skills and challenging them to expand those skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Understands client needs• Build effective relationships within functional area of responsibility to consult on all aspects of services.• Consult with Business Stakeholders to proactively identify and prioritize opportunities that support current and future business strategy.• Assess intake requests, provide input into effective prioritization, and recommends solution path to meet current BI needs.• Identify appropriate existing BI service offerings to business partners. Represents the clients' needs to BI teams.• Stay current on industry research and share relevant information and appropriate usage with client and team.• Support project management team and coordinates the tasks as defined in the project plan (from initiation through delivery/final implementation). • Documents high-level risks and assumptions. • Performs quality review and escalates functional, quality, or timeline issues appropriately2. Designs and scopes work• Converts business requirements into BI solutions roadmap.• Identifies, proposes and influences business solutions, to negotiate deliverables and requirements.• Ensures re-use of existing data and BI solutions.• Sets clear expectations regarding scope, timeline and business partner resource requirements.3. Interpret, Synthesize and Deliver Insights• Provide insights as requested by business teams that address specific inquiries within the business.• Provide consultation during all phases of the development of solutions.• Provides feedback & support to the BI partners throughout lifecycle of the BI solution.• Uses self-service tools and data resources to provide analysis, synthesize findings, and deliver insights to the business.• Works with others to capture relevant information, evaluates and validates that solutions meet their intended purpose upon delivery.• Manage the lifecycle of BI solutions and ensures relevance over time• Monitor and measure performance of the solution or business initiative and recommend appropriate actions based upon their results. (in support of data driven solutions)4. Communication and Change Management• Partners with teams beyond immediate client group to ensure broad acceptance and support of analysis and/or solutions• Leverage prior analysis and information when available to support business needs while minimizing rework.• Clearly communicate recommendations and actionable insights• Maintain appropriate documentation to enable future use, interpretation, and support of solutions.• Serve as a liaison to the business during implementation, gathering additional information when needed and keeping the business informed regarding the implementation.
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Works across a broad cross-functional made up of business owners from multiple pyramids to provide insights and reporting for the related enterprise program. Client business groups include, but are not limited to Target Properties, Store Design & Architecture, Merchandising, Space and Presentation, Store Operations, Finance, and Marketing. With these relationships also comes corresponding coordination and work with BIA & BIE teams supporting these functions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelors Required and/or 4-6 years, experience working in or with business area or in analytics/reporting * Relevant business knowledge, including retail and/or business-area-specific focus on Property Development and Management, Finance or Merchandising. * Understanding of application of analytical and technical approaches, including self-service tools, to apply while consulting * Familiarity with Agile practices and their implementation and execution * Consulting, communication, influence without authority, manage complex relationships, ability to deal with ambiguity, data visualization, and meeting facilitation.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS* Experience in consulting, strong business acumen, critical thinking skills, courage, and strong relationship building skills. MBA as required by business unit.* As necessary, the ability to customize tools per business area needs.
