Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

The Department of Social Work at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, rolling contract appointment to the faculty in our Bachelor's degree program for social work. This position includes release for serving as program director. Our department also offers the Master's degree of social work. A start date of January 2019 is preferred. However, this is negotiable (pending budget approval).

We are seeking a thought-leader with a desire to build and support growth in generalist social work programming at St. Catherine University. This position offers excellent opportunities to shape and enrich our programs. We appreciate that social work is an ever-changing field and seek a candidate interested in adding innovative elements to our curriculums. Our department values the opportunities that come along with small class sizes and getting to know our students.


Responsibilities: : The selected candidate will demonstrate excellence in both their administrative and teaching roles by providing visionary leadership in their work with faculty, staff, students, and the community. The successful candidate will be involved with leading efforts around accreditation and faculty development. As this position is 50% teaching and 50% administrative, the successful candidate will be expected to advise students, conduct scholarly work, and engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community, and professional organizations.

Position Qualifications

Required qualifications:
An earned doctorate, preferably in social work and eligibility for licensure in the state of Minnesota is required. Three years of experience in higher education with increasing responsibilities is preferred. Commitment to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings is required and should be evident in past experiences. Preference will be given to candidates who possess administrative experiences with social work accreditation.
