We drive industry-leading technologies in support of every angle of the business, and help ensure that Target operates smoothly, securely and reliably from the inside out.As a Senior Engineer with a focus on UI, you serve as a User Interface specialist on specialized engineering team that supports other teams in their technology stack modernization efforts.  You help develop and gain insight in the application architecture. You can distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation. You show expertize in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. You have the skills to design and implement the intuitive User Interfaces that customers want to use. You show good problem solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized area(s) of the technology domain. Participate in routine and non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices met. Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues. Participate in exciting opportunities such as emerging technology prototypes, special development projects within our organization, and potentially open and inner source initiatives. About you:
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of software development experience
• Demonstrates proficiency in JavaScript and a thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Posses experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
• Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise such as newer specifications of EcmaScript and modern authorization mechanisms such as JSON Web Token
• Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non-routine technical issues with minimal assistance
• Clearly communicates Agile concepts to partners and team
• Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understand different frameworks and paradigms
• Delivers continuously while utilizing test driven development strategies, software test automation, pipelines and containers
• Influences and applies data standards, policies, and procedures
• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
