As a Accounting Technician you will manage integrated accounting systems that relate to the management and daily operation of the VA Debt Management Center (DMC). Match disbursing documents with obligation documents. Prepare necessary forms for transfer of funds on intra or inter-agency related transactions. Research, interpret and verify appropriation and general ledger accounts for specific documents and the related effects of subsequent accounting transactions.
Submit accounting fiscal transactions without errors and prepare vouchers for end processing.
Review all input and output for propriety and correctness without causing month end processing delays.
Manage input and output for processing, using integrated accounting systems that relate to the daily operation of DMC.
Prioritize and adjust work assignments to maintain workflow fluctuations.
Research records to properly answer all inquires.
Document accounting transactions to assure a proper audit trail.
Provide recommendations for improvements and/or modifications to meet agency operating programs.
