The University of St. Thomas School of Law invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Lawyering Skills department, beginning in fall 2019.

St. Thomas's Lawyering Skills program includes three required courses. Lawyering Skills faculty teach Lawyering Skills I (3 credits) in the fall semester and Lawyering Skills II (2 cr.) in the spring semester. Lawyering Skills III (2 cr.) focuses on appellate advocacy and is taught by adjunct professors.

A Lawyering Skills professor typically teaches two sections of Lawyering Skills I in the fall and two sections of Lawyering Skills II in the spring, for a total of around forty students each semester. Every other year, each Lawyering Skills professor also teaches an additional course in the spring. Other faculty responsibilities include professional engagement through research, presentation and publication, and committee service.

Our mission states, "The University of St. Thomas School of Law, as a Catholic law school, is dedicated to integrating faith and reason in the search for truth through a focus on morality and social justice." Many of the School of Law's most notable programs have been inspired and shaped by its identity as a Catholic law school, including a strong emphasis on public service both during and after law school. The mission has also helped to foster the School of Law's unique Mentor Externship Program. Most importantly, the mission sets the tone for an enriching, exciting environment that flourishes throughout the school.

Located in downtown Minneapolis, the School of Law is well-placed both within the Twin Cities legal community and in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, which ranks regularly among the nation's most livable communities.
