The Star Tribune Media Company is the upper Midwest’s largest source of news and information, with 270 full time journalists.  Adweek Magazine’s 2011 “Hottest Regional Newspaper in the Country” attracts 6 million unique monthly visitors to and posted 24 straight months of Newspaper circulation growth.  In growth mode, we are launching an exciting new digital division that will offer a suite of digital marketing solutions custom tailored for small and medium sized businesses.  This new division builds upon our 145 year-tradition of being a trusted and knowledgeable business partner to the Minnesota business community.    



A digital sales consultant in our new division will be focused on developing new business by selling a full suite of best-in-class digital marketing products and services built around vendors such as Google.  Product suite includes; Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Website creation, Social Media Marketing, Reputation Management, Mobile solutions, and more.  Sales responsibilities will include, but not limited to; prospecting, in-person consultative meetings, establishing new accounts weekly, gold-standard customer service, working with best-in-class contact management software, and sharing best practices with your team and coaches.

  • Establish and maintain elite level of marketplace credibility through high integrity consulting  
  • Establish new accounts via face to face meetings in a highly competitive and consultative environment
  • Ability to initiate interactive business conversations with decision makers
  •  Ability to work with small and medium sized businesses and understand their business needs
  • Service companies that currently utilize internet marketing and digital advertising programs
  • Build and grow a strong network of customers and prospects
  •  Expand customer relationships that ensure customer satisfaction
  •  Highly motivated, independent professionals with a energetic passion for sales and drive for results

Preferred candidates will have:

  • BA or BS
  • Minimum 2+ years outside sales experience     
  • Online Marketing sales experience
  • Advertising industry experience 
  • Demonstrated skills in quickly learning industry, Company, product suite and customers’ business needs along with being digital savvy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, goal-oriented and energized by challenges as well as being highly self-motivated
  • Must have proof of valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
