The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track appointment as Nutrition and Dietetics ranked faculty. Our department offers several undergraduate majors, including a flexible nutrition science program and an accredited didactic program in dietetics (DPD). This appointment begins fall of 2018 (pending budget approval).

We are seeking a thought-leader with a desire to support growth in nutrition programming at St. Catherine University. This position offers excellent opportunities to shape and enrich our programs and to help develop new programs (e.g. graduate degree in nutrition). We appreciate that nutrition is an ever-changing field and seek a candidate interested in adding innovative elements to our curriculums, with emphasis on interprofessional collaborations. Our department values the opportunities that come along with small class sizes and getting to know our students.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and developing a variety of clinical, community, and food system courses for our DPD and Nutrition Science program. The candidate will directly support the program director in maintaining all ACEND-related requirements. The candidate will advise students, conduct scholarly work, and will be expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community, and professional organizations.

Position Qualifications

Qualifications: Enrolled in doctoral program, with ABD and expected earned degree within 2018-2019 academic year required. An earned doctorate degree in nutrition, dietetics or closely related field, with current certification as a registered dietitian (RD/RDN), with 3 years teaching experience is preferred. Commitment to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings is required and should be evident in past experiences. Preference will be given to candidates who possess administrative experiences with ACEND or other accrediting bodies.
