Chemical Dependency Technician - Mission Detox Center - Full Time Overnights
Missions Inc. Chemical dependency services are provided through four programs: Hart House (women only), Mission Lodge, and Smith Lodge provide transitional housing for men and women in recovery and Mission Detox Center provides medically supervised detoxification for adults and adolescents. Domestic violence services are provided through the Home Free Shelter for battered women and their children and the Home Free Community Program.

Missions Inc. Programs is seeking applicants for a full-time overnight Chemical Dependency Technician to be a part of our Mission Detox Center; from 11:30pm to 7:00am. We also have on-call positions available for all three shifts.
Operating since 1978, Mission Detox Center is a 21-bed facility that provides professional, compassionate medically supervised detoxification for adults and adolescents, primarily serving persons from Hennepin and Anoka counties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the detoxification process of clients while maintaining high standards of care.
- Admit and discharge clients according to established procedures.
- Observe and chart patient behaviors, considering individual and age-specific differences, in order to recognize, report and assist in addressing potential medical, psychiatric and behavioral problems.Appropriately document clients’ progress in clinical record.
- Work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Complete 15 hours training annually per Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 32.
High school graduate or G.E.D.; knowledge of chemical dependency.
Evidence of one year of sobriety if chemically dependent.
Ability to, once employed and upon successful completion of the Mission Detox Center training, have the ability to perform basic health assessments, first aid and client care functions.
Meet the physical demands of the job including: walking, bending, stooping and kneeling multiple times per shift; other lifting or transferring of clients; ability to lift in excess of 35 pounds.
