A role in Licensing calls on a strong emphasis on curiosity and accountability.  These skills will support your work including: leading a team of non-exempt team members, responsibility over the timely and accurate license renewals, ensuring new stores open with all appropriate licenses, supporting the company's adult beverage and WIC strategies, and reviewing and approving payments.   This role also provides thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners throughout the company both at HQ and in our stores. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

Working within Licensing, your mission will be to ensure Target is properly licensed in all our locations in order for us to fully operate our business. You will act as a brand ambassador to our external partners in addition to the governmental agencies licensing deals with on a daily basis.

As a Licensing Manager, you will lead a team of specialists that manage the day to day processing of our licenses, providing direction and feedback to maintain strong performance results.  The Licensing Manager works side by side with the Sr. Licensing Analyst and Director Licensing and Real Estate Tax to implement Target's licensing strategy without disruption to our business. This roll involves research for compliance issues that may arise regarding our licenses or acquiring new licenses. The Licensing Manager will proactively develop and maintain relationships with our internal business partners, including merchants, store operations, legal and stores.  This role will be responsible for the review and approval of all fees associated with our license applications.  Lastly, the Licensing Manager will drive process improvements in order to drive efficiency.   Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • 4-year college degree
  • 4 to 6 years related experience; including some team management
  • Enjoys problem solving on a regular basis with limited direction
