Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota invites applications for the full-time (i.e. twelve-month) position of administrative chair of the university’s nursing program.  The chair reports to the provost and oversees (with the assistance of track coordinators) the university’s three nursing tracks (an on-campus baccalaureate program, a fully online RN-BS program, and a hybrid LPN-BS program on the university’s Sioux Falls campus).  The university’s nursing program is accredited by CCNE and was granted continued accreditation this past February.  Start date is negotiable, but candidate must assume duties by July 2018 at the latest.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a terminal degree in nursing.
  • Possess successful administrative experience in higher education.
  • Possess successful experience with overseeing assessment and accreditation processes.
  • Be able to facilitate teamwork and the alignment of learning outcomes across multiple programs.
  • Be willing and able to mentor nursing faculty as they move toward leadership roles.
  • Be committed to the integration of digital technology into the teaching and learning process.

The University is within an hour’s drive of Sioux Falls, one of the Upper Midwest’s largest statistical metropolitan areas.  It is within a six-hour drive of several major metropolitan areas (Omaha, NB; Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO).
