ACTUARIAL ANALYST Position Description This position is responsible to provide financial analysis support to the organization and management. Support the Medicaid product line including rate review, competitive bidding support, monitoring financial performance. Support the Commercial product development cycle; perform analysis informing rate filing assumptions, competitor review. Update and enahance modeling tools. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Review, evaluate and model proposed Medicaid rate changes. Support Medicaid competitive bidding pricing activity.Monitor Medicaid financial experience, including assessment of population profiles, trend and risk score analytics.Establish and maintain strong understanding of Medicaid program and applicable risk adjustment methodologies.Provide data analysis and support for Commercial rate filing. Work with Corporate Actuary and other actuarial staff to develop projection factors including benefit changes, trend, applicable population adjustments, formulary changes, and other projection considerations.Maintain familiarity with Medicaid and Commercial competitive landscape.Establish and maintain a strong understanding of UCare product lines, reporting requirements, and health care industry. Grow and maintain relationship with UCare's PBM.Represent Health Care Economics on UCare cross-departmental projects as an active contributor and supporting resource.Maintain appropriate documentation for departmental processes.Ad hoc analysis and backup support as needed.
Education B.S. in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field strongly preferred; demonstrated programming/financial analysis experience may be considered in leiu of degree.
Required Experience 1-2 actuarial exams passed. Intermediate to advanced skills using Excel.
Preferred Experience One year of health industry experience. Experience working with Medicaid program. SAS/SQL background. 2-4 actuarial exams passed.
