You help develop applications which enable performance testing and measure system performance. You will analyze the results to determine opportunities for tuning. You will also partner with developers to build performance expertise and instill high performance approaches into the development process. You are an expert in application performance in a cloud environment including application and network. You have the ability to design and develop applications which will test, measure, and analyze application and/or page performance. You are persistent and interested in solving application performance mysteries. You share the information learned in a project with others and apply the learnings to other projects.Use your skills, experience, and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals. As a Sr. Engineer, you'll take the lead in measuring applications and identifying opportunities to enhance performance. This will include direct, hands-on activities such as data analysis, design, and development. Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within performance. Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as speed and scalability.Participate in routine and non-routine testing, construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices are met. Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues. Lead reliability activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning. About you:
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of software development experience
• Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target's technology capabilities, and key competitors' products and differentiating features
• Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non-routine performane issues with minimal assistance
• Knowledgeable of the factors that affect performance including application design, development, and infrastructure
• Demonstrates strong proficiency with performance techniques and approaches
• Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests
• Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understand different frameworks and paradigm
• Influences and applies data standards, policies, and procedures
• Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
