Press Operator                                            

This position is responsible for the manufacturing and packaging of labels. Includes but not limited to running a press, running a turret machine, packaging product and maintaining a clean and safe work space.

  • Completing production tickets with roll tags, date, initials, and amount of product ran
  • Tracking roll stock usage correctly and accurately
  • Accurately and efficiently running jobs
  • Packaging finished product correctly (boxed, sealed, glued, taped, labeled, stacked etc. on pallet and moved to appropriate storage area)
  • Appropriately filling glue and ink trays to avoid overfilling, spillage and unnecessary mess
  • Stacking empty pallets in designated area
  • Stacking finished rolls appropriately on pallets
  • Cleaning plates after each use
  • Clearing and disposing  of packaging materials and loose debris when pulling material
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work station including cleaning up space at shift end
  • Filling boxes of trash and recycling in appropriate bins with approximate even weight
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins that are overflowing
  • Sweeping work area at end of shift
  • Putting away dies and cylinders at end of shift
  • Putting soiled towels in appropriate bins for towel service
  • Moving finished jobs to appropriate place in fulfillment
  • Moving full pallets to the storage area
  • General housekeeping, keeping shop clean and orderly. Ensuring there is always a 28 inch clear path as required by OSHA
  • Communicating with next press operator at shift change on job status/progress
  • Completing work within the allowed labor hours, refraining from working overtime unless asked by supervisor
  • Demonstrating knowledge of printing operations
  • Demonstrating eagerness to learn and grow in position
  • Demonstrating ability to self-direct and the initiative to assume extra work to keep productive during shift
  • Demonstrating innovativeness by coming up with new ideas to promote individual and company growth
  • Demonstrating ability to problem solve and suggest opportunities for change
  • Demonstrating accountability for machinery and other company property
  • Management is appropriately informed of area activities including machinery issues regarding repair needs
  • Adhering to all Safety, Quality, Environment, Security and Employee Handbook regulations, policies and procedures (this includes Attendance, refraining from phone use and other non-business tasks and keeping non-business related socializing to a minimum)
