Position Description

This position is responsible to collaborate with leaders to evaluate current trends and ideas, and identify innovation opportunities.  Conduct literature review, research & summarize published innovation programs, pilots, and initiatives, collect data & perform basic analysis, and present insights in a variety of forums. This position requires attention to detail and a strong acumen for data and measuring outcomes to ensure improvements are impactful and sustained.  Responsible to support and assist with the planning, organizing, directing, and implementation of innovative activities. Co-facilitate the Innovation Committee with a representative from Strategy and Product Management.  Consult with staff, medical directors and others on ideas and proposals, and engages with community partners to listen and solicit ideas.  Specific duties and responsibilities include:



    Develop the innovation and ideation process, as well as the discipline of capturing and prioritizing opportunities.Identify and research new areas of innovation, utilize market research and drive innovation activities at the enterprise level.Build and develop internal partnerships to ensure deep connection points for developing and executing on initiatives.Seek alignment and collaboration across the enterprise to bring together ideas to generate member outcomes that are transformative, appropriately resourced and scalable.Identify and conceptualize innovation that will advance strategic goals and align with the organizations strategic initiatives. Conduct best practice research and benchmarking.Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities, advocate for those opportunities, socialize concept, and develop concepts and opportunities into solid business cases and champion through organization approval and mobilize execution.Develop partnerships with resources outside the organization to drive the innovation development process forward.Incubate ideas, proposals and/or initiatives through the early deployment and nurture the opportunity toward sustainability.Ability to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity and complexity.


Bachelor's Degree in health care or business related field, Masters preferred.

Required Experience

Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules/regulations.  Two years of experience leading cross-functional teams with an emphasis on problem solving or innovation.  Process improvement and project management experience.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate has launched a number of innovative initiatives or projects. Preferably they have large and small company experience and can lead both technical and business-minded team members.  Must understand how to move quickly and how to "fail fast" and move forward.
