Supervises, sets up and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines including manual and CNC machines to shape powdered metal parts or products by removing excess material by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects and measures products to verify conformance to prints.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Programs/runs equipment when workload and/or skill is required.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Role Responsibilities: Workign with CNC machining/operators/apprentices, and Tool and Die Workers in the Tool and Die Department.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have high level of skill and proficiency with all CNC equipment and common machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses and tapping machinery. Minimum 5 years machining experience, including manual machining. Certification from an accredited trade school is a major plus.
