Systems Engineer Senior - Minneapolis, MN
The Systems Engineer Senior will administer and configure day-to-day technical activity for UCare's technical infrastructure, including work with Netapp (A700, A200, FAS8200), EMC (VPLEX, VNX, Isilon, Recover point, Appsync, XtremIO) and Cisco (9148 FC), Brocade (DCX), Backup infrastructure (Avamar, ECS, Data Domain) tools and technologies. Administer and manage converged cloud infrastructure VCE Vblock and Flexpod systems including Cisco Nexus network switches, MDS SAN switches, Cisco UCS and VMware infrastructure. Assist in storage area network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network, compute and data communications hardware and software. Perform periodic storage and backup systems upgrade as necessary based on vendor software releases and bug fixes to ensure systems meets the security standards. Storage Implementation, Administering and Managing of Disaster Recovery Solution like EMC Recover Point Appliances and VMware Site Recovery Manager for Business Continuity into Disaster Recovery Site. Perform data migration from legacy storage systems to new storage system and decommission legacy systems as part of storage refresh project. Administering and Managing VMware ESXi Hosts Version 6, Configuring High Availability for Clusters and, Managing DRS and Optimizing Hardware & Resource Utilization of ESXi, Migrating Virtual Machines and deploying them as needed. Provisioning RDM & Virtual SAN Storage and Creation of Storage Level Replication for Business Continuity into Disaster Recovery Site. Administer critical and continuous data replication and data migration operation using PowerShell and shell scripting to automate refresh activities. Administration of Netapp Data Ontap, Ontap cloud, Solid fire Element OS, Storage replication adapter, Snap center, Snap mirror, Snap vault, OCI and Unified manager to support CIFS, NFS, ISCSI and FCP protocols and data replication. Perform Enterprise storage performance tuning, including monitoring enterprise storage platforms and taking corrective action to maximize enterprise storage availability. Tasks include storage capacity planning, forecast, optimization, process monitoring and controls.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related.
Qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience as a Systems Engineer, Storage Administrator, or closely related occupation, working with relevant tools and technologies including; Netapp, Snap, VMAX, Hitachi, Cisco, and EMC, and related technologies.
