The Computer Information Systems Department at the College of St. Scholastica seeks a dynamic faculty member to join our program as a Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor starting either January 2019 or September 2019. Candidate should have demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduate courses and mentoring students. This a visiting faculty position starting January 2019 and continuing through May 2021 with a possible extension after that.

Responsibilities will include teaching courses across the undergraduate CIS curriculum including courses on the Duluth campus, online courses, advising students, participating in the continued development of our curriculum, and actively participating in the other faculty responsibilities within the department and college.

Required qualifications include a graduate-level degree in a computer-related field, excellent teaching and communication skills, demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills and willingness to support the College’s mission and Catholic Benedictine values. The ability to effectively teach a wide variety of introductory and advanced undergraduate classes, experience with online education and relevant industry experience and/or doctoral work is preferred.

The CIS Department offers a student-centered, undergraduate degree in CS/CIS. The department embraces creative teaching methods and offers a wide range of classroom and online courses. The CIS program is one of the oldest in the field, serving students for more than 30 years.
