As an engineer on the Kubernetes team, you serve as a technical specialist helping us run some of the largest Kubernetes clusters in the world. We have hundreds of application teams running their services on top of Kubernetes, and we want your help to make their applications run smoothly and efficiently at scale. We do that through automation, configuration as code, and advanced monitoring. We are looking for someone who can understand complex infrastructure, and also has the ability to code so that we can automate as much as possible to reduce toil and improve efficiency.

At Target one of our core values is to be One Team and in this role you will be working along with many other infrastructure teams in addition to application development teams. Everyone on the Kubernetes team must act as a partner to help Target reach its goals.

About you:

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience

• 1-5 years of software development or dev/ops experience

• Demonstrates familiarity with current and emerging technologies in own scope of responsibility, and develops ability to apply these technologies

• Demonstrates and continuously builds upon domain-specific knowledge

• Demonstrates proficiency in at least one computer language

• Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise

• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
