As a Senior Production Designer, you will be responsible for extending design programs for packaging, in-store signing and other marketing channels for Target's portfolio of exclusive brands, while maintaining consistent brand standards, with a high taste level and standard of creativity. This position will report to Senior Creative Production Manager. Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.About you:
  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Solid use of MAC computer programs: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Portfolio of samples demonstrating Target brand expectations.
  • 3-5 years of experience, must include packaging design experience
  • Possesses fundamental design skills with the ability to receive and interpret design direction. Has strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborates with creative and marketing teams on layout creation/revisions and toolkits or style guides as well as creating schematics or mock-ups & presentation decks or boards for partner/leader reviews.
  • Defines and executes layout details and rules for execution including messaging hierarchy, branding elements, typography, photography and illustration.
  • Executes projects by designing, overseeing and executing production details including asset management, overseeing retouching to creating keyline ready-files alongside internal and external partners, including creative team, India partners, agencies, separators and vendors.
  • Successfully collaborates and performs duties by solving problems, applying critical thinking, presenting and clearly communicating project needs or ideas with partners and leaders. 
  • Operates effectively, efficiently and with minimal direction through ambiguity.
  • Organizes and plans details and assets for multiple projects in order to meet project deadlines. Integrates and balances big picture with day to day work.
  • Works closely and directs separator execution teams and partners to create and proof print ready mechanical files or web ready deliverables. Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to extend detailed concepts across multiple channels, formats, forms and apply proportions of scale.
  • Drive continual improvements by defining quality standards and best practices; Takes the initiative to address critical issues.
  • Participates and leads special projects and committees that will impact the larger organization.
  • Ability to travel and attend photo shoots with creative teams to provide detailed crop information, layout revisions and assist with photo art direction when needed. 
  • Stays current on emerging style, graphic and industry trends, innovation, and advancement in the fields of branding, design, as well as tools and technology used to perform role.
