Position Description

This position is responsible to assist with implementation of innovative projects and programs and maintain existing programs that advance UCare's health promotion goals for members and staff. Serve as an active participant on the Innovation Sub-Committee, collaborating with the Co-Chairs on the design and implementation of innovative activities. With the guidance of the Health Promotion (Program) Manager, maintain and oversee department initiatives, vendor relationships, internal and external communication program oversight.

·This position is responsible to develop, promote and implement employee wellness programs.  Expand the scope of employee wellness offerings to UCare employees and coordinate lifestyle enhancement programs and health screenings.

·In collaboration with Innovation Sub-Committee Co-Chairs, lead the development and implementation of initiatives that are approved and funded by the Sub-Committee.

·Provide ongoing oversight of Sub-Committee initiatives and certain ongoing Health Promotion programs. Key areas of oversight include budget, vendor contracts and scope changes.

·Manage, maintain and support development and oversight of assigned health promotion programming to include vendor relationships and compliance, key internal and external expertise, reporting on productivity and recommendations on improved efficiencies.

·Build and develop internal and occasional external partnerships to ensure deep connection points for development and implementation of initiatives. 

·Identify potential new prevention initiatives and health promotion programs designed to maintain a leadership position in driving member responsibility for their health care.


·Research, recommend and implement wellness offerings to UCare employees by developing and presenting behavior change programs and educational workshops on a variety of health and wellness topics.

·Coordinate lifestyle enhancement programs such as tobacco cessation, nutrition, stress management, weight management, exercise and fitness. Provide referrals to employees when appropriate.

·Increase employee awareness and access to materials supporting behavior and lifestyle change.

·Create and maintain RENEW resource guide to ensure programs, contacts and other program details are well documented.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in a health care or business related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Familiarity with commercial and government health plan products. Three years of project management, program implementation and/or vendor management experience.

Preferred Experience

Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Affordable Care Act rules and regulations. Experience leading or supporting cross functional teams. Budget management experience. Licensed fitness instructor.
