Director of Nursing Free Standing Ambulatory Surgery Center Opportunity

Riverview Surgical Center is a two-story facility currently under construction with an open date of May 1, 2019, that is located along the edge of the Missouri River in South Sioux City, NE.  The project will consist of an ASC on the first floor and MOB on the second.  The building was designed to maximize views of the river, both from within and without.

The ASC will have four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, one minor procedure room and 21 pre- and post-op patient bays, with 4 being extended recovery rooms overlooking the river.  Clerestory lighting brings natural light into the pre- and post-op bays.  The second floor MOB will be outfitted with a med spa, travelers suite and plastic surgery clinic.


As the Director of Nursing you will lead an experienced and growing team through all aspects of both clinical and administrative duties.  Administratively you will serve as the spearhead for processes and regulatory compliance.  Additionally you will be the focal point and lead for all accreditation actions.  Clinically you will lead educational initiatives for staff and assist to improve service lines.  You will also act as the departmental manager for the OR, PACU, and Pre-Op preparation team of registered nurses, assistants, and technologists.  You will lead staff through the continuum of care, from assessment and planning, through implementing, to coordinating care for the patients.  Working in collaboration with, and reporting to the ASC Administrator/Board of Directors, you will be the chief representative for clinical practices.  Controlling inventory, resource scheduling, and maintenance scheduling will play important parts in the development and adherence to effective budgets, which you will co-develop with ASC Administrator.


  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
  • Master’s Degree in Health Administration preferred
  • RN License in the State of Nebraska. 
  • 10 years plus OR experience
  • 5 years plus Director of Nursing in a free standing ASC
  • Familiar with AAAHC and Medicare Deemed Status Accreditation
  • Superior communication skills, able to develop and maintain effective relationships, strong sense of compassion, ability to demonstrate patience, highly self-motivated and directed, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
