Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program in the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health invites applicants for a 9 month, 1.0 FTE, ranked faculty position beginning in August 2019. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, initiative, creativity, and effective problem solving skills.

Responsibilities: The person filling this position will join a team of PTs and PTAs in delivering entry-level PTA coursework. In addition to teaching, they will be expected to participate in ongoing curriculum development, implementation and evaluation; serve as a student advisor/mentor; serve on departmental and university committees; and participate in scholarly work. The primary focus of this person's teaching is expected to be in orthopedics/kinesiology, use of physical agents and service learning

Position Qualifications

Required qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, three years of full -time (or equivalent) clinical experience and hold a current license as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, and previous experience as a member of a PT/PTA team. Preferred applicants will have clinical expertise in orthopedic physical therapy, a specialty certification/advanced proficiency designation and/or possess a Masters or Doctoral degree. An interest and commitment to service learning and a prior history of both clinical and teaching experience are also preferred
