This position is a great opportunity for a candidate to get their foot in the door in a real estate related field with many senior positions approaching retirement age.  An elevated full time position may be posted following the duration of this opportunity.   The knowledge of appraisal practices and internal systems gained in this role could be a competitive advantage in that hiring process.  This position will be responsible for assisting residential appraisers with gathering and verifying property characteristics and entering data into the Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system.  The Assessment Technician represents the county while conducting field inspections and should be capable of communicating with property owners in person.  Field work includes viewing, measuring, and documenting characteristics for the diverse residential and agricultural stock of property in Scott County.   

MQs: Requires high school diploma or GED.  A bachelor's degree in real estate or related field is desired.  Preference will be given for experience in performing assessing duties in an assessor's office, performing real property appraisal duties, or any license/designation in a relevant field.  The incumbent shall possess a valid driver's license and provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities.

Hiring Range: $17.72 to $22.15/hr. – DOQ.
