    Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant
    Location: 
    Adult Education Center- Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights

    Part-Time  12 months/ 133 days/4 hrs a day
    Schedule:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings; 4:45 pm – 8:45 pm

    Duties: Assist adult learners in the classroom (ESL preliteracy level), with guidance of a classroom teacher.  Facilitate instruction in the classroom, support student attendance tracking and exit paperwork, administer progress testing, and support classroom volunteers.  Communicate with staff, work closely with assigned teacher. Training will be provided.  Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Strong communication and organizational skills.  Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy and ethnically and culturally diverse population environment.   

    Preferred Qualifications:  BA/BS degree preferred.  Experience with ESL learners preferred.  Experience working with adults in an ABE/ESL academic program preferred.  Technology skills and basic math skills preferred.  Experience working with diverse populations preferred.  Bilingual skills a plus.

    Rate of pay:  $13.82/hour.

    Start Date:  ASAP after closing.
