OVERVIEW

The Department of Finance at the Opus College of Business, University of Saint Thomas, MN, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Position starting Fall 2019. The Opus College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

Candidates with expertise in all areas of Finance are welcome to apply. The department offers courses in the undergraduate business program and several master's programs in business, so there are multiple opportunities for teaching. Current needs are greatest for courses in investments, introductory finance, and undergraduate finance electives. The typical teaching load for this position consists of three courses (generally two preparations) per semester.

St. Thomas is located in the vibrant Minneapolis-St Paul area, one of the nation's top 25 metro areas. Combine that with a visible corporate presence of 17 Fortune 500 headquarters plus a diversified list of other companies with offices in the metro area, and you have a very strong, supportive business community that attracts bright, talented, people. In fact, a recent study found the Minneapolis St. Paul metro area population grew nearly 8% from 2010 – 2017.


QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D. in Finance or another relevant discipline is required for this position. Candidates who are ABD with the PhD substantially completed before September 1, 2019 will be considered. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and have an active research agenda.
