Laboratory Technician II, POPs Prep – Minneapolis, MN
Hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday with the probability of overtime and possibly some weekend hours.
Pace Analytical Services, LLC., a leading national analytical laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Laboratory Technician II in the POPs Prep department at their laboratory in Minneapolis, MN.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing or preparing samples in an efficient and organized manner, using approved Pace Analytical procedures.
- Documenting reagent preparation, analytical response and observations, more complex calculations of results and quality assurance data.
- Keeping logbooks up-to-date.
- Disposing of samples and chemicals.
- Waste handling duties to include: labeling containers, understanding storage time limits, performing proper satellite accumulation, ensuring adequate space between waste containers, ensuring all waste containers are closed and incompatible materials are stored separately, understanding secondary containment, and documenting weekly inspections, if applicable.
- Keeping the laboratory clean and safe (must have knowledge of safety rules).
- Assisting other lab personnel with analysis, data checking and approval.
- Entering data into Pace lab data management system and monitoring computer printouts.
- Attending company and divisional Quality Assurance meetings.
- Providing maintenance of stock reagents and lab supplies.
- Working on special projects with supervision of chemist or manager.
- Reviewing Pace analytical methodologies.
- Promoting cooperation and teamwork among staff.
- Following Pace policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Hours are approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with the probability of overtime and possibly some weekend hours.
- Associates degree and/or more than two years equivalent laboratory experience.
- The individual should be self-motivated, ambitious, hard working, and able to work independently with an eye for attention to detail.
- Must be able to multitask efficiently and work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Physical requirements include, walking, bending, and carrying. Must also have hand and finger dexterity, and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Current and applicable computer skills.
