The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for basic electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance. Conducts a variety of preventative and restorative maintenance duties. Follows established city and state building codes.

DUTIES

Major job functions include: Assisting with preventative and restorative maintenance including mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair; repair requests for assigned areas including repair of wheelchairs,beds, light fixtures, etc. In addition, the Maintenance Worker assists in replacing ceiling tiles and electrical outlets as needed; reports and records information pertaining to preventative maintenance; keeps facility grounds clean and assists with snow removal; assists with setting up of special activities; upholds facility policies and procedures; and all other duties as assigned.

This individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting/repairing HVAC and kitchen equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position we prefer three years of experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair. Requires HVAC knowledge and commercial kitchen equipment repair. Prefer a Special Boilers license C (or ability to obtain within six months). Must have valid MN driver's license. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to work an on-call schedule and weekends. Must be able to perform physical job demands of position. Requires the ability to exercise confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Experience in a Long Term Care setting is preferred.
