Description: JOIN US as an Engineer on the Rollout and Deployment Software Engineering Team!

We are seeking a creative, passionate and team-oriented engineer to work on our Rollout and Deployment team, designing and architecting hardware installations, including Point of Sale, low voltage cabling, Asset Protection, and wireless networking.

You will work supporting Rollout & Deployment's work to deliver $240M worth of new technology to Target Stores, DC's, and Headquarters each year. This work supports Target's major strategies like New Store Openings, Remodels, Ship From Store, and Same Day Delivery, and you'll have the chance to see your work completed in every Target store.

• We deliver capabilities to our stores Team Members and guests, not just boxes and wires.
• Our hardware installations should be as plug-and-play as possible so that Team Members can immediately benefit.
• Taking time to automate and improve configuration and installation is much more valuable than manually executing scripts and commands
• We take ownership of hardware in the store - if you see problems or opportunities to present better solutions, you've got license to take care of it.
• We work early and often with platform owners and business teams, you'll have input on every hardware decision to make sure it's the right one.
• We spend time investing in learning, up to 20% of our time is dedicated to experimentation and individual learning.
• We think participating in the developer and innovation community is important and spend time at events, meetups, and hackathons both at Target and externally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design installation plans and requirements for IT hardware in Target Stores accounting for physical install and rack configuration, low voltage wiring, heat management, sight-lines, and power requirements
• Support installations remotely through troubleshooting, escalation, and configuration
• Approve and edit designs for New Stores and Remodels
• Work with engineers and developers throughout Target to implement automation and drive technology improvements for our Team Members and guests
• 5% travel to support installations at Target Stores and vendor locations

Minimum Qualifications:
• 1-3 years' experience supporting hardware technology installations in the field or remotely
• 1-3 years' IT troubleshooting, automation, or scripting experience
Desired Qualifications:
• CAD Certification or equivalent experience with Microstation or Revit
• Bachelors or Associates degree or certification in Software Development or equivalent
• Experience writing documentation for IT installations
• Experience administering IT assets through CLI, scripting, and configuration
• Experience building and implementing high performing and scalable server-side applications
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
