WORK LOCATION: DAMMAM, KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA (KSA) – KSA is segregated by gender – MALE APPLICANTS

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  NPA DEAN

COMPENSATION: based on experience.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The HOD is responsible for designing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the National Power Academy (NPA) academic programs conducted for post-secondary and incumbent industry workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). As well as coordinating the day to day operational activities of program faculty and staff, and ensuring compliance with program standards, contracts, regulations, and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide academic oversight and management of the NPA’s Academic curriculum programs.
  • Develop customized programs for the NPA’s clients.
  • Achieve and maintain KSA and International accreditation.
  • Ensure compliance with KSA policies, procedures, reporting, standards, etc.
  • Promote and market the NPA’s programs.
  • Coordinate logistics and plan program-related activities.
  • Write or assist in writing grant and program funding proposals.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain community and professional networks within the KSA.
  • Recruit, train, and maintain a strong and diverse pool of staff and faculty to deliver the NPA’s programs.
  • Document all program planning, policies, procedures, practices, and logistics to ensure quality control and sustainability.
  • Structure and monitor outcome measures and evaluation procedures for programs.
  • Prepare and monitor program budgets.
  • Support organizational fundraising by providing information and connections to staff and board members as needed.
  • Develop or coordinate professional development and curriculum support workshop opportunities for faculty on modern pedagogy and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties designated by the Dean to achieve success of programs and meet the mission of the NPA.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • BA or BS degree is preferred, lower degree in energy, engineering, or education related fields with appropriate experience.
  • Experience managing educational or industry training program(s) is desirable.
  • Ability to speak and write Arabic is desirable.
  • Native English speaker.
  • A strong personal commitment to the NPA’s mission and vision.
  • Ability to develop and implement programs related to the NPA’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
  • Proven experience in developing curriculum for ESL and/or technical energy programs.
  • Strong facilitation and group leadership skills.
  • A familiarity with and understanding of issues of diversity and inclusion, with knowledge of how those issues are particularly navigated in the KSA.
  • Experience working with youth, schools, business, elected and government officials, industry, and/or community groups.
  • Experience working in a leadership capacity with diverse groups.
  • The ability to conceive, develop, and complete tasks without close supervision.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and budget development and monitoring skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Computer competency and proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Office environment.
  • Administration and work in the fields of education and/or organizational development.
