The Vice President, Finance Shared Services CFO provides leadership and direction for financial services throughout the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS). This individual in collaboration with the MCHS Chief Financial Officer and the VPs of Finance – SHP CFO and Care Delivery CFO is responsible for the development and implementation of financial policy, providing credible financial analysis and guides decisions to preserve the financial position and performance of the organization. The Vice President, Finance Shared Services CFO is accountable for providing support to the VPs of Finance Care Delivery CFO and SHP CFO to support the respective operational leadership teams. This role is also responsible for system wide accounting and reporting, preparation of regulatory reporting (e.g. tax returns, cost reports, OCI), maintaining all system wide accounting financial system tools for major projects across the organization. The individual collaborating with other System functional leaders, Health Plan and Regional leaders, in conjunction with the MCHS Chief Financial Officer, to ensure operating units are equipped with appropriate financial reporting and support. This individual is part of the MCHS Chief Financial Officer’s financial leadership team, and is a key contributor/stakeholder collectively responsible for the financial planning, reporting, compliance, and financial operations for MCHS as well as ensuring the financial performance and operations of MCHS are carried out in support of the MCHS, Care Delivery, SHP and other business units strategic plans. This individual must be comfortable working within a matrix leadership team. Reports to the MCHS Chief Financial Officer.

Requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field required; Master’s degree in business administration or accounting preferred
  • Ten years of progressive experience working in finance to include five years working as a leader in finance within a healthcare organization
  • Five years of management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting and reporting policies and procedures in a health system environment
  • Working knowledge of a hospital, clinic, and health plan’s accounting and data processing information systems
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), active or inactive status

Preferred/Optional Experience: Ten years of progressive experience working in finance within a healthcare organization, in particular with health plan, hospital and medical groups. Five years of senior finance management experience for an integrated healthcare organization.
