Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

St. Catherine University is accepting applications for one full-time Ranked Faculty Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator in its Sonography Department. The central focus of St. Catherine University is the promotion of learning through caring relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration. The mission-oriented faculty member is knowledgeable about and committed to both the college and campus mission statements. Because of unique opportunities for interaction with learners, faculty members are chief facilitators of the realization of these goals. In addition, they possess a dual commitment to both professional skills within their discipline and to the art of teaching.

The ideal candidate will be the representative for St. Catherine University to the clinical sites, motivate students, have prior teaching experience, and have the ability to resolve conflict.

Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in planning and coordinating departmental programs which include evaluation, development, and revision of courses and curricula.
• Facilitate the development of a relationship-centered learning environment.
• Recognize learning styles and capabilities of students.
• Exhibit enthusiasm and engagement in the learning process.
• Create an atmosphere that is respectful of diversity, and welcomes all learners.
• Mentor students.
• Actively participate in the department and the University and support the policies and procedures as they reflect the mission.
• Facilitate the development and communication of appropriate learning goals.
• Identify content and learning resources and organize learning experiences appropriate to the learning goals.
• Utilize alternative teaching methods, when necessary and appropriate, to promote the likelihood of student success.
• Apply current content, technology, and methodology in sonography.
• Evaluate student performance regularly, providing students with prompt feedback regarding their progress.
• Be actively engaged in the University processes, such as full faculty meetings ad University all-faculty/staff meetings.
• Maintain relationships with clinical sites.
• Monitor students in the clinical experience at the facilities.
• Promote the growth of the program and aid in adding clinical sites for students.
• Keep all paperwork up to date.
• Keep an up-to-date log on clinical site visits.
• Keep up to date with onboarding the clinical sites.
• Work with the PD to plan an advisory board and a clinical meeting annually.
• Create a method of engaging with all clinical sites.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Accreditation Standards for an Educational Program of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Maintain professional competence and current knowledge through continuing professional development/educational activities.
• Actively serve on University-wide committees.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (AB, OB/GYN).
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience.
• Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualification:
• Master's degree.
