The Community Corrections Director serves as the Community Corrections administrator for the County ensuring State requirements for Community Corrections Act Counties and other applicable State and Federal statutes are met.  Provides management and oversight for all activities within the Department, including planning and organizing the services to the court through probation/parole, counseling, treatment, or detention.  This position is directly responsible for development and implementation of Department practices and procedures.  Evaluates programs and staff, develops strategic plans, and operates Department within budget guidelines.  In addition, implements new programs; integrates services across systems; and prepares reports for the Community Corrections Advisory Board, local task forces, and the County Board.

Minimum qualifications include the equivalency of a master's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field and six years of increasingly complex Corrections experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience.  Training in evidence-based practices (i.e., risk assessment, motivational interviewing, case planning, and cognitive behavior) is desired.  The incumbent shall possess a valid driver's license and provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities. A bachelor's degree and eight years of experience will also meet the requirements.
