As a Visual Strategy Lead, you will be on our Experiential Operations team and will be critical to the implementation of our field Visual Merchandising Strategy across all stores.  The Visual Merchandising team establishes their expertise within Store Operations by partnering with cross functioning teams within merchandising, marketing and our HQ Visual Merchandising Office to develop tools, resources, and training of all visual work occurring in stores within A&A, Home, Company Space, Baby and Signing.

This role would lead strategic partnerships, support the development of a long-term plan that positions visual merchandising for future growth. You will use data from sales, brand performance, domo, other metrics and research to inform teams' strategies and work. You will benchmark external performance, identify emerging trends, best methods, tools, technologies that can influence innovation.  Acting as a Visual advocate for stores, you will support and lead store visits to assess, solicit feedback, and identify ways to reduce store expense and rework, simplify processes and answer questions. You will also use strong project management skills to meet deadlines and hold clients accountable.  Last, you will support the development of documentation and guides used to assess, hire, and performance manage the visual merchandising skill in the field and across stores.

About you: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or other technical degree in visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, exhibition design, visual communications or similar
  • 3-5 years of related work experience as a visual merchandiser and/or manager in specialty retail and/or Target store; knowledge of design, fashion trends, and products
  • Proven experience in retail merchandising strategies, customer service principles, and the ability to execute visual merchandising efforts that support an active selling environment
  • Ability to collaborate and influence partners to drive superior execution of visual merchandising priorities.  Able to influence decisions that affect visual merchandising standards and execution.
  • Experience and providing performance feedback on visual merchandising initiatives, identifying opportunities for improving results, and providing solutions to store-specific visual and merchandising challenges
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional planning and execution
