Patient Services/Scheduling

JOB SUMMARY:  The Patient Services Scheduler manages the time and appointments of the physicians and their patients.  This individual is responsible for maintaining exceptional telephone etiquette while providing positive and courteous communication.   Extraordinary listening skills, clear and factual communication, confidence in your knowledge of services to   deliver precise information is imperative.  Must be able to multitask and handle heavy phone work while operating in a fast paced culture of teamwork, respect and community.

Duties would include, but would not be limited to:

• Receive incoming calls from patients or referring clinics and schedules their appointment
• Make outgoing calls to schedule patients who have been referred to our office
• Register new patients including all required demographic information
• Contact patients to reschedule appointments when needed
• Check voice mail and return calls in a timely manner
• Print and send letters to patients and referring providers
• Coordinate interpreters for appointments
• Demonstrate helpful and effective telephone etiquette and customer service skills
• Provide appropriate information to callers
• Monitor assigned doctor schedules
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service experience or training
• Strong computer skills, spelling and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively use computer software and technology
• Medical terminology experience preferred
