You'll produce extensive benchmarking, rigorous market research and benefits analysis to inform the right compensation mix for roles across the company. Your point of view will be directly applied keeping Target competitive and standing out in the sea of other places candidates can choose. You'll develop great relationships with our vendors to get the most out of our systems and resources. And you'll help team members understand their benefits and how to maximize them.

As the Director, Engagement, you'll be responsible for leading Target's Benefits Engagement strategy to reach Target's nearly 350,000 team members. You will lead the team responsible for engaging our team members and helping them take care of themselves, each other and their families. You will be responsible for managing existing programs as well as recommending new initiatives to ensure Target is positioned to attract and retain top talent through market-competitive benefit offerings. You will manage a team of communications and benefits experts as they support the broader benefits and well-being objectives. Through your ability to influence and assess team member and risk impact, you will help to design the comprehensive benefits portfolio. Your expertise will ensure Target's offerings are meeting the needs of a diverse team member population and that we reach team members in a measureable and impactful way.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of engagement strategies for Target's robust benefits portfolio
• Leverages industry knowledge built through internal and external networking, benchmarking, trend monitoring and strategic external partnerships to ensure Target's offerings are market-competitive and compliant
• Collaborates across HR to ensure Target's offerings and communications are meeting the needs of team members and business
• Uses broad knowledge to influence Target's investment in new or changing benefit offerings
• Reviews complex or high risk communications and delivers messaging to leadership
• Uses internal and external knowledge to determine reputation risks and appropriate responses in ever changing benefits landscape
• Ensures business opportunities and risks within benefits programs are identified, prioritized and tracked
• Creates and delivers presentations to key groups to address team member questions, concerns and perceptions. Works with HR teams to ensure best possible outcomes are reached
• Manages vendor relationships for key communication strategic partners
• Creates innovative strategies to proactively support industry trends and business and staffing needs.
• Manages six direct reports and aligns work to support broader health and financial benefits subject matter experts
• Manage, coach and support the development needs of Engagement team members
• Identify future team alignment needs and build talent plans

ABOUT YOU:
•         10+ years HR, PR, or communications experience, preferably with benefits experience
•         Strong leadership and project management skills, written and verbal communication skills
•         Results driven
•         Ability to maximize relationships and manage performance
•         Strong problem solving, decision-making skills, and attention to detail
•         Ability to deliver difficult messages with empathy and understanding
•         Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
