Target is a Fortune 500 leading retailer with a world class technology team innovating at the bleeding edge of technology with blazing speed.This role emphasizes developing solutions that will support the very latest edge computing technologies in our stores, including structured cabling and power infrastructures technologies.As part of this team you will be engineering solutions for products in store telecommunication rooms such as low voltage cabling, UPS systems, power distribution units (PDU), automated transfer switches (ATS), IT equipment rack designs and standards, IoT sensors, and centrally managed wireless door locks.

About this opportunity - Stores Control Room Engineer

As an engineer on the Stores Hosting Control Room team you will….

Help support and implement large enterprise scale projects that will modernize power and structure cabling projects in telecommunication rooms in various locations.

Provide input into the design and implementation of low voltage structured cabling, grounding and bonding, power and UPS standards using your infrastructure experience and knowledge.

Help maintain quality installation and standards documentation for low voltage and power systems.

Maintain strong relationships within Target and with a network of vendors and providers to deliver fast and robust solutions without compromising stability.

Deliver world class operational outcomes with an emphasis on stability, security and safety.

Assist with developing long-term strategies and planning the execution of our objectives.

Foster a healthy team culture by being inclusive, open and being accountable.

Develop and maintain an individual learning plan that will ensure you are knowledgeable with current standards and best practices.

Requirements

BA/BS or equivalent experience

3-5 years total work experience

Solid knowledge of structured cabling and/or power standards and best practices in implementations

Remains current on technical knowledge within areas of expertise via formal trainingand education

Basic understanding of server and network devices in larger organizations

Working understanding of office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, email, etc.

Available for limited travel

Desired qualifications

RCDD, network or other infrastructure certifications and related experience

Electrical engineering background and/or licensed electrician

Experience with software development or use of enterprise class monitoring tools

Experience in Agile development
