Description: The Accelerator Program Manager is responsible for the relationship management, operations, and the execution of startup engagement programs at Target from the pre-program stage (recruiting& pipeline management), through the program, and the post-program stage.  As the main point of contact for program operations, they will play a key role towards creating the future of retail at Target and contribute to the success of all participating startups.  

Responsibilities:

Recruiting:

Continuously on the lookout for startups that align with the business problems we are solving.

Works through the backlog of priority companies to connect with, evaluate and surface high potential companies.

Builds relationships with key Target leaders to understand their priorities and provide introductions to startups to ensure alignment for programs and pilots.

Assist program managers with application vetting and company selection

Manage the pipeline of companies and report out status.

Develops external relationships to support recruiting/sourcing efforts.

Builds strategies for engaging startup communities across the US and identifies opportunities for recruiting events that support building a pipeline of companies.

Programs:

Plan and execute key program curricula and events

Contribute to the execution of Target's innovation programs, including during extended night and weekend hour

Relationship Management:

During and post-program activities, supports tests and pilots between companies and business units.

Continues following up with program alumni on a regular cadence and re-establishes connections internally as necessary.

Manages a regular communication cadence, shared with leadership, to report on the status of participating companies.

Mentor Network:

Manage relationships with internal and external mentors and program participants

Identify open needs within mentor network and partner with the team to identify strong candidates to fill the opens

Other:

  • Represent Target in the local community, both actively and passively

Required Experience:

Experience working within startup/entrepreneurial communities (including working with and/or on a startup)

Experience working in lean/agile environments

Experience in event planning and event logistics

Proven attention to detail through prior work

Comfort with minimal amounts of direction

Bachelor's degree
