Position Description

This position is responsible to raise awareness of the organization and its work through a variety of diverse communities in UCare's service area.  Assist in managing a variety of large and small scale, innovative community events.

·Coordinate UCare presence at events that are a strategic fit with UCare's community relations plan. This will include, but not limited to; manage registration, payment, advertisements, logos, volunteer staffing and other logistic aspects before the event, attend and manage event looking after set up, event and tear down and ensure appropriate marketing materials and/or giveaways are ready to be used at each event.

·Maintain relationship between UCare and HealthFair 11, including representing UCare at HealthFair 11events and participating in UCare's involvement at the Minnesota State Fair in the HealthFair 11 building.

·Record all information and activities related to Community Relations event in UCare's event database program (Microsoft Dynamics 365).

·Update and maintain volunteer program. This would include recruiting and supporting event volunteers.

·Promote UCare's positive presence in communities through regular participation at professional conferences, health fairs, community events and other community initiatives.

·Assist at special events which may occur in outdoor venues and will require some weekend and evening hours.

·Must be able to lift 15 lbs. and move materials easily.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.

Required Experience

Two years' experience working in diverse community outreach and/or promotional programs.  Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to events which may occur evening and weekends. 

Preferred Experience

Outgoing, friendly, highly organized person with experience with low-income, ethnic, disabled or senior populations preferred.  Ability to speak, write/read in Spanish or Somali is a plus.
