Description: Price & Promo Strategy Lead | Small Formats and Market Based Pricing
Help Target develop their pricing strategy for unique markets and small format stores. These stores are uniquely position to accelerate enterprise growth and pricing is one of the primary levers to deliver this growth profitably.
The Price and Promo Strategy Lead is responsible for the final price assessment for each new store in the development pipeline. You will develop new strategies that align with the enterprise approach and tailor pricing to the unique market conditions. You will evaluate the effectiveness of the pricing position based on profitability, guest price perception while continually evolving and optimizing the approach.
• Strategy development and market level price planning
o Develop pricing approaches for markets, price zones and individual campus locations
o Ensure strategy compliments overall Target pricing strategy
o Measure the impact on the profitability model for the enterprise and the small format locations
o Assess the productivity of pricing decisions by measuring guest impact, store workload and ROI
o Develop promotional strategy
• Monitor competitive pricing landscape, regional retailers and drug chains and develop pricing responses
• Comp shop & market visits to better understand nuances of guest trip behavior and competitive pricing
• Manage performance improvement initiatives and use effective communication tools to provide visibility into pricing updates:
o CFT Project Updates- outlining project progress, performance, key learnings, etc
o Maintain Smart Sheet small format site assessment tools for price
• Lead pricing conversation within the small format leader alignment meetings
• Make process improvements using strategic problem-solving skills
• Use strong critical thinking and communication skills to provide strategic direction for long term Pricing vision and prioritization of projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous business and merchandising experience (6+ years)
• Strategic Orientation
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills; Director and Senior Officer potential.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills.
• Technical skills should include: Microsoft Office and Target Retail systems,
