Strategic Partnerships Manager



PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for facilitating the strategic supplier relationship management process to enable Target to build and manage “top to top” trusted, reliable and win-win supplier relationships with key suppliers.  Ensure a consistent approach leveraging executive sponsors to manage the supplier relationships, resulting in improved performance and greater value from suppliers' goods and services.  Assist in establishing and maintaining programs and routines that enable the extended team to achieve desired outcomes. 

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Plan, execute and facilitate executive sponsor interactions between Target and suppliers including events (supplier summit, executive sponsor meetings)

  • Govern process to meet program goals, including coordinating the extended supplier management team (e.g. sourcing/procurement, legal, finance, vendor risk management, corporate communications) 

  • Collect a view of supplier business interactions across Target, ensure the right people are engaged and include the summary of work in the supplier profile

  • Align perspective and approach internally across Target teams on externally facing messaging/positions

  • Create and administer performance surveys, analyze data, monitor variances, identify trends and recommend actions

  • Track supplier commitments and monitor progress

  • Facilitate discussions on opportunities (positive or negative) between Target and supplier, with focus on increasing relationship value

  • Prepare materials and presentations for leadership (e.g. includes preparing leadership for top to top supplier management encounters)

  • Manage relationships and collaborate with partners (e.g. influence upward as well as across the organization) and coach stakeholders on roles and responsibilities

  • Plan and manage supplier relationship project efforts and manage logistics

  • Support initiatives/programs that may cross multiple areas, geographies and teams, both internal and external

  • Manage communications and collaboration (e.g. intranet sites, SharePoint, communities)

  • Create and leverage best practices to ensure continuous process improvement

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPSReports to Director, Strategic Supplier Relationship Management

REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-year degree or equivalent

  • 4+ years of transferrable experience  

  • Analytical, self-starter, curious and thrives on learning new content

  • Organized, detail-oriented team player

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional maturity to interface with external partners and work with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and distill multiple sources of information to tell a story

  • Ability to handle and protect confidential information

  • Ability to work in an agile environment, demonstrate the agility to adapt and evolve

  • Proficiency with O365 suite/Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
