FINANCIAL ANALYST SENIOR - RISK ADJUSTMENT & REVENUE

Position Description

This position is responsible to serve as the key liaison for risk adjustment and revenue knowledge sharing with innovative provider partnerships. Guide partners through analytics with focus on the financial benefits of optimization efforts. Maintain a strong understanding of CMS, DHS, and ACA Individual/Exchange related data sources for reporting and consolidation. Ensure strong internal and external risk adjustment partnerships through new education, information sharing, and reporting. Assist with vendor management, education, contracting, and value analysis.

·Consolidate and process data inputs from a variety of systems, resources, and people to form cohesive and action orientated presentations. Deliver presentations to provider partners.

·Monitor frequently changing risk adjustment models for all LOBs while sharing model updates or nuances with internal stakeholders and external partners. Communicate revenue and risk adjustment ideas and insights.

·Liaison with key care systems for revenue and risk adjustment communications. Develop and maintain close partnerships with provider partners through collaboration with Provider Relations and Contracting, risk adjustment vendors, and other team members.

·Participate in new and innovative provider partnerships from planning to execution. Maintain roster of important work efforts and key player assignments. Schedule, follow-up, and influence provider partners using subject matter expertise mixed with polished communication credentials.

·Gather and share meaningful metrics with provider partners related to revenue, risk adjustment, and population. Communicate performance metrics to providers while offering optimization and best practice suggestions.

·Build and maintain a strong understanding of medical claim coding and payment processes including the differences between Medicaid, Medicare, and ACA Individual/Exchange coverage.

·Represent Health Care Economics on various UCare cross-departmental projects as an active contributor and supporting resource.

·Create and maintain procedures and current process documentation.  

·Ad hoc analysis and backup support as needed. Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

B.A./B.S. in Healthcare related field or Finance, Economics, or Computer Science related field; demonstrated analytical and communication experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of presenting data analysis, reporting, analysis, or statistics based information. Strong Microsoft suite skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Health provider experience - either internally or externally. Polished and professional communication aptitude.

Preferred Experience

Health insurance industry, risk adjustment / revenue payment modeling experience, and / or provider coding department experience. Five years of reporting, analysis, data or statistics based experience.
