Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

The Department of Social Work at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track contract appointment as faculty in our master's degree program in clinical social work starting in fall 2019. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.

We are seeking an educator and thought-leader with a desire to build and support growth in clinical social work programming at St. Catherine University. This position offers excellent opportunities to shape and enrich our programs. We appreciate that social work is an ever-changing field and seek a candidate interested in adding innovative elements to our curriculum. Our department values the opportunities for engagement that come along with small class sizes and a highly collaborative team.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship and service roles by providing innovation and collaboration in their work with faculty, staff, students, and the community. In the context of a growing MSW program within a university comprised of a diverse student body, this position prioritizes teaching with a mission to help students use their training to lead and influence change. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, advise students, conduct scholarly work, and engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community, and professional organizations.

Position Qualifications

Required qualifications:
• An earned doctorate or working toward a doctorate, preferably in social work, a master's in social work, at least two years post-master's practice experience, and eligibility for independent-level social work licensure in the state of Minnesota.
• Commitment to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings (with evidence in past experiences).
• Experience in higher education is preferred.
