Foster Care Adoption Supervisor

Hours:  40 hours weekly

As the Foster Care Adoption Supervisor you will assure the provision of quality Christian foster care, adoption and post-legal services for children and families in accordance with agency policies and mission. Maintain compliance with county and state regulations.

  1. Be responsible for comprehensive case process from intake, case assignment, child and family assessment, adoptive and foster care placement, and family supervision to case closure.
  2. Provide regular individual and team supervision to staff and interns. Work to build a cohesive team and maintain staff morale.
  3. Manage vacation schedules to ensure adequate coverage and availability of services.
  4. Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through completion of staff evaluations, conference requests, time sheets and reimbursement vouchers.
  5. Maintain Older Child Adoption and foster care programming in accordance with project team approved service manual.
  6. Maintain awareness of current trends and theories. Recommend changes in agency policies and practices when appropriate.
  7. Participate in preparation of annual budget, goals and objectives.
  8. Maintain, enhance, and develop positive relationships with referral sources and community agencies.
  9. Ensure effective operations through selection, training and orientation of new staff.
  10. Facilitate planning meetings for referred children and permanent wards, as needed, and maintain monthly contact with DHS cases.
  11. Develop and coordinate state and county  contracts for foster care and  adoption programming within state licensing requirements. Facilitate appropriate referrals and maintain required statistical reports.
  12. Provide direct services as needed.
  13. Attend project team and community and state and county committee meetings as required.
  14. Attend training as needed and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service.
  15. Consult with staff related to local, state, federal grant programming.
  16. Assure compliance with local, state and federal contracts.
  17. Attend required training hours per state licensing, COA, and agency mandates.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1. MSW or MA/MS in a human service field.
  2. Demonstrate excellent clinical and assessment skills.
  3. Demonstrate supervisory, written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Eligible to obtain professional licensure or registrations.
  5. Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions.
  6. Two years post masters experience in child welfare.
  7. At least one year of supervisory experience in a public or non profit setting
  8. Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.
  9. Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.
