Job Details
The Office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is seeking a qualified investigator/outreach coordinator to primarily work with our new Workers’ Rights Attorney to build stronger protection of workers’ rights across Minnesota. The position will involve collaboration with employee organizations, advocacy groups, other government agencies, employer associations, and directly impacted Minnesotans. This position will lead initiatives to improve working conditions, to protect workers’ wages and rights, and to ensure lawful treatment of employees. The position will assist the attorney to conduct outreach and investigations addressing systemic violations of workplace rights laws.
This position is a rare opportunity to help build a new priority area within the Attorney General’s office, and requires a dynamic individual with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work creatively and collaboratively.
Requirements: We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor’s degree or demonstrable similar experience. We also seek evidence of past responsibility and success building trust and working with diverse and varied workers and communities that have suffered from unfair employment practices. Experience in some or all of the following areas is preferred but not required: working with persons of diverse employment backgrounds, languages, and cultures; conducting investigations of wage and hour and other labor-related rights and protections; a prior history of public service. Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali or other relevant language for Minnesota preferred but not required.
