Job Details

Hiring Department: Center for Rural Health, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $40,000 plus/year (salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience).  This is a full-time, benefited, exempt position.
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm  May require occasional work outside of standard hours due to business travel or other deadlines. Working from home or remotely is not an available option for this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of web content in a variety of formats (e.g., text, blog, video).
  • Identify, select, and index news items related to rural health.
  • Promote RHIhub and its products and services to external audiences.
  • Coordinate and facilitate outreach activities in conjunction with program leadership; contribute to program management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public administration, business, or health-related field. Will consider other degrees with directly relevant work experience, and will consider Spring 2019 graduates for this position. 
  • One year of work experience in outreach and marketing.
  • Experience writing, with demonstrated ability to write for the web.  Details provided below.
  • Experience with social media.  Must provide statement in cover letter that establishes individual’s social media experience for an organization.
  • Experience in public speaking or making presentations.
  • Must submit cover letter, formal resume, and writing samples in addition to the UND application.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with rural health issues.
  • Experience or training with social media strategy.
  • Experience with  format, layout, design, and construction of branded materials.
  • Experience working with state or national organizations to promote grant-funded activities.
  • Experience working with a content management system and basic HTML.
  • Experience with social media management tools and software.
  • Experience using Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
  • Video production skills, including scripting, voice-over, and editing.
