BUSINESS ANALYST

Position Description

This position is responsible to understand stakeholder needs and the business issues to be addressed.  Collaborate with the business and technical stakeholders to define needs and ensure understanding. Coordinate with the project manager and business owner for project intake (ideation and inception), maintain relationships with the business and drive standard business processes across the Enterprise. Responsible for the discovery, analysis and documentation of business requirements. Collaborate with the project/program manager serving as the liaison between the project team and the IT team. Plan for and execute on business analysis activities for a number of projects of medium to large size/complexity. Collaborate with project and business management to ensure business objectives are achieved. Support the development of the business analysis and UAT practices at UCare. Recommend and implement business analysis tools and templates. Collaborate within the PMO and across UCare. The BA should have an understanding of business priorities and the relative importance of their projects. The BA must possess strong technical acumen with the ability to translate information and research into non-technical language as necessary to effectively communicate across teams.

·Interact with Project Sponsors, Owners, Team Members, Vendors and Subject Matter Experts to understand the business problem that needs to be solved and gather, document and confirm business requirements.

·Perform stakeholder analysis to ensure comprehensive inclusion of key stakeholders and their needs are understood and documented.

·Assist the technical resources in understanding and translating business requirements for the purpose of developing functional requirements.

·Assist the Project Manager to identify, complete and communicate all required activities, deliverables and tollgates according to the Project Execution Process.

·Interact with Project Managers to track project progress, identify risks, communicate risks and status, and assess potential impacts to the business.

·Support the development of current and future state process maps.

·Develop use cases as a key communication tool between the business and technical teams. Document current & future state assessments.

·Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for assigned UCare projects.  Author UAT documentation deliverables (UAT Test Plan, UAT Test Results, and UAT Defect Log).  Coach business users in their roles and responsibilities for UAT, including UAT test planning, UAT test execution and user acceptance criteria.

·Mentor Business and IT Resources on the Business Analyst (BA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Roles and Responsibilities.

·Support Business BA, IT BA, IT QA, IT developers and UAT Resources in the development and execution of BA and UAT deliverables.

·Lead communication across different IT and business teams, taking a lead role in coordinating analysis efforts.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Business or related discipline preferred; demonstrated work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Three or more years of Business Analysis experience, including UAT.

Preferred Experience

Experience in health care or managed care.
