Accountant II, FT
The City of Anoka is seeking an Accountant II. This is a Full Time, Benefit Earning, Exempt position in our Finance Department. Primary responsibilities include: Supervising the AP Clerk, Payroll/Purchasing Clerk and Receptionist/Cashiers. Maintaining Payroll system and records (941, 1099’s, W-2’s). Reconciliation of benefits. Submitting insurance claims. Approve AP, journal entries & deposits prepared by clerks. Maintain AR module. Preparing journal entries, and auditing accounts and expense reports and preparation of various financial reports. Assisting in the preparation of work papers for the annual audit and budget.
Must have a 4-year degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration concentration in Accounting/Finances, and 5 yrs professional experience handling accounting or bookkeeping functions with relevance experience within the last 2 years. Must have professional experience using accounting software, financial management software or other enterprise financial management workflow software.
