Job Description:

Job Summary:

Researches, analyzes, maintains, and supports Electronic Practice Management (EPM) and Image Control System (ICS) systems applications. Continually monitors EPM and ICS needs and recommends modifications to existing systems to meet changing requirements. Works with software vendors and IT staff to ensure software meets clinic needs. Coordinates the patient billing process to include setting up patient accounts, preparing and submitting bills to third parties for payment, and entering payments into patient accounts. Pursues collection of all claims until payment is received. Performs other work associated with the billing process.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Maintains and supports Electronic Practice Management (EPM) Image Control System (ICS) systems applications. Provides technical analysis, issue resolution, enhancements, and modifications to meet the needs of the clinic.

  2. Follows-up with third party insurance carriers on unpaid claims until claims are paid or only patient portion balance remains. Post all payments to patient accounts.

  3. Prepares insurance claim forms and submits to third party insurance carriers and other payers as indicated.

  4. Answers inquiries regarding insurance and/or billing concerns and follow-up with clinic staff, patients, or third party insurance carriers as needed.

  5. Provide EPM and ICS applications training for new employees as well as training for existing employees regarding updates, upgrades, or enhancements.

  6. Researches new application capabilities, updates, and upgrades on existing applications to provide technical support and to assist with installation, testing, and training.

  7. Troubleshoot applications issues in a timely manner. Communicate with end users as well as software vendor support regarding application issue resolution.

  8. Create and monitor clinical data reports from EPM and ICS applications as needed and as requested.

  9. Develop and maintain procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and availability of EPM databases.

  10. Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely.

 

 

 


Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Combination of post-secondary education and experience with technical support of EPM applications to equal two years. Must have successfully completed a one year medical office administration training program or have at least one year of medical billing work experience.

  • Must complete required EPM training within six months of hire.

  • Good computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must hold and maintain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. If not CPR certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
